Each major child of the patriarch became the head of a house. These are the living branches that carry the Akpata line into the present day.

Akpata

Head: Abraham O Akpata

The principal line, descending from the eldest son of the patriarch. Traders, clergymen, civil servants and educators across Benin, Lagos and the diaspora.
